Terms of Service — chat-recall

These terms govern use of the chat-recall hosted service at chatrecall.dev ("chat-recall", "we"), reachable at contact@chatrecall.dev. By creating a workspace you agree to them.
The service
chat-recall indexes AI-coding session history you choose to sync, and provides search, summaries, analytics and secret-leak detection over it. The CLI and collector are provided under their own open-source license; these terms cover the hosted service.
Your account & content
- You must be 16+ and provide accurate account information.
- Your content stays yours. You grant us only the license needed to store,
process, index and display it back to you and your team.
- You are responsible for what you sync. Don't sync content you don't have the
right to process, and don't use the service to store or distribute unlawful material.
- Keep sync tokens secret; you're responsible for activity under your tokens
until you revoke them.
Acceptable use
No abuse: no attempts to access other tenants' data, probe or overload the service, resell access, or use the service to build a competing dataset. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that threaten service integrity, with notice where practicable.
Billing
Every account starts with a 7-day trial that requires no card, and nothing is charged during it. When a trial lapses the account becomes dormant: new sessions stop syncing, search over the history already synced continues to work in full, and export always works. Your data is retained, not deleted. Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe on the plan shown at checkout. Cancel anytime from the billing portal; access continues to the end of the paid period. Founding/promotional pricing is honored for as long as the subscription remains continuously active.
Service level & data
- The service is provided "as is"; we target high availability but give no SLA
at this plan tier.
- Daily encrypted backups (90-day cycle, EU region). Deletion works as
described in the Privacy Policy.
- Secret redaction and detection are best-effort pattern matching — they
reduce risk, they do not eliminate it, and they are not a substitute for rotating exposed credentials.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim; we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss caused by secrets that redaction did not catch.
Termination
You can delete your workspace at any time. We may terminate for breach of these terms with notice, or immediately for abuse. On termination your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.
